E-Government Survey in Media

Mauritius ranks 58th among 193 countries in the United Nations E-Government Survey 2016.

The report of the United Nations E-Government Survey 2016 has been made public on August 1. It is based on the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) which is calculated using three indexes, namely online services, telecommunications infrastructure, and human resources. Through this survey, governments of the world are evaluated in terms of how much they are taking to information and communication technologies to cater for services.

Mauritius has climbed from the 76th place in 2014 to the 56th one this year. According to the report, this improvement is due to the development of E-Government services, and initiatives like the “Declaration on the Internet of Things” and the “Resolution on Big Data”.
