Workshop on Promoting Accountability, Transformation, Innovation and Creativity in Africa’s Public-Sector Institutions to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the achievement of the SDGs





Aiming to reach a large number of high ranking public sector leaders in African countries gathered by the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) Roundtable Conference, UNDESA's Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) is organizing one workshop over the course of three days during AAPAM’s 39th Capacity Development Roundtable Conference







Objectives:






  1. Raise awareness about the importance of strengthen transparency, accountability, integrity (TAI) and preventing corruption for achieving the SDGs and the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)

  2. Strengthen capacities on selected key measures for strengthening accountability and preventing corruption (Codes of Ethics/Codes of Conducts, Conflicts of Interest) and corruption risks related to public procurement

  3. Facilitate knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning between high-level African government officials

  4. Discuss Capacity Development needs of participating countries and share information about UN DESA’s capacity development initiatives with focus on TAI, preventing corruption and Voluntary National Reviews/ High-Level Political Forum
