Description:
Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) Leadership and Stakeholders meeting on “Contributions of Supreme Audit Institutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”

A meeting on “SAI Contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals” will take place in New York, from 19 to 20 July 2018, following the ministerial segment of the High Level Political Forum (HLPF). Jointly organized by the United Nations Department of Social and Economic Affairs (UNDESA) and the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), the meeting draws from the success of a first meeting held in 2017.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to take stock of SAIs’ engagement with the SDGs. Participants will reflect on the experience and lessons learned from auditing preparedness for SDG implementation, and present relevant audit findings, recommendations and reports from different regions. Discussions also aim to facilitate mutual understanding and dialogue between SAIs and external stakeholders regarding SDG implementation and the role of SAIs, and identify stakeholders’ expectations on the contributions of SAIs to the 2030 Agenda.
