Description:

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2022 Second Open Consultations and Multistakeholder Advisory Meeting (MAG), organized by the IGF Secretariat, will take place at the UN Office at Geneva (UNOG) from 6 to 8 July. This second meeting of the IGF 2022 planning cycle will focus on selecting sessions for the annual Forum, including workshop sessions competitively evaluated by the MAG, and solicited through a public call open to all stakeholders until 3 June. The session proposals fall under five themes aligned with the Secretary-General’s vision for a Global Digital Compact, namely, “Connecting All People and Safeguarding Human Rights”, “Avoiding Internet Fragmentation”, “Governing Data and Protecting Privacy”, “Enabling Safety, Security and Accountability”, and “Addressing Advanced Technologies, including AI”.

The first Open Consultations day of the meeting is an opportunity for non-MAG members to intervene openly on matters related to IGF programme building, as well as for organizations, including UN System entities, to give updates on their IGF-relevant work. The two subsequent days of MAG deliberations are open to observers.

The agenda and registration, including online participation details, will be made available here.

*Approximate meeting time in Central European Summer Time (GMT+2): 10.00-18.00
