The EGM on “Integrating Sustainable Development and Peace in Post-conflict Situations: the Role of Public Institutions and Public Administration” is organized by the Division for Public Administration and Development Management (DPADM) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

The meeting will examine innovative governance approaches that can enhance recovery and state-building for sustainable peace and development both at the national and local levels. The meeting aims to inform the preparation of the World Public Sector Report 2017 by fostering the sharing of experiences among United Nations Agencies and outside experts on the role of public institutions and public administration to integrate sustainable development and peace in post-conflict situations. Participants will also discuss positive experiences of people engagement in peace and development processes and how they can be pursued within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
