Description:
Expert Group Meeting (EGM): Second technical meeting for the elaboration of a model to audit the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The objective of the meeting is to inform the development of a model to audit the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting will be organised in collaboration with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).

The meeting is taking place in the context of DPIDG’s collaboration with IDI’s capacity development programme on “Auditing the Sustainable Development Goals”, which supports supreme audit institutions across all regions in conducting audits of the SDGs. The meeting will convene individual experts and staff of supreme audit institutions and other organizations to provide and discuss technical inputs on the proposed approach, methodology and tools for auditing SDG implementation, as well as on sustainable public procurement (SDG target 12.7), the audit subject matter chosen for piloting the model. This audit model will be developed by the end of 2019 and subsequently used to facilitate support to cooperative compliance and performance audits of the implementation of selected SDG goals and targets. The model will also provide guidance to supreme audit institutions in their strategic considerations on auditing SDGs.
