One of the upcoming feature additions to the Bungeni Editor is integration with the eXist XML repository. This will allow a unified workflow where documents are marked up transformed to Akoma Ntoso XML and posted to the XML db. The eXist XML repository is an Open Source XML database that stores XML natively according to the XML data model and supports indexed Xquery processing.

The integration includes a Akoma Ntoso REST API for posting Akoma Ntoso XML documents to eXist and supports Akoma Ntoso style URI retrieval of Xml documents and their components. A querying interface will also be provided to search the XML database for documents and Xml fragments.

There are also plans to improve support for the judgement document type in compliance with the newest Akoma Ntoso XML schema and to support automatic numbering for judgements. Improvements are also slated to be made on the ODF to Akoma Ntoso translator to support more user-friendly and human-understandable error messages.
