Please provide a brief summary of the initiative including the problems/challenges it addressed and the solutions that the initiative introduced (300 words maximum)
The initaitive is about the gender equality and How to support women role in society,as its known that women is the backbone of the existence of mankind, the main problem was that in upper Egypt woman face many problems to express their opinions, diffiiculties in education ,participate in the political process and healthcare because of habbits in upper Egypt that prevent woman to enjoy its whole rights as a human being in most times. so this initiative played an important role to enhance the women role in society by seeking to support women to express their opinion and participate in the political process and decision making, as a result Sohag governorate witnessed a remarkable development in the woman participation in the social life

1 - Introduces a distinctively new approach to promote the participation of citizens, specially poor women, in policy making this may be through the application af a new knowledge management technique,in unique policy, or implementation design in the context of a given country or region. 2 - provides access to high quality, affordable services for women 3 - promotes participation of women in decision making and delivery of public services to women 4- promotes responsiveness to the needs of women 5 - promotes gender parity in public service

according to society in upper Egypt as we noticed in the problem that women face many problems to enjoy its whole rights , so this initiative is linked with the main purpose that the governorate seek to achieve, by enhancing the women situation in the society.

The initiative should improve people’s lives, notably by enhancing the contribution of public services to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the realization of the SDGs

Under the supervision of Sohag Governorate The national council for woman launch an initiative tittled as" your identity card is your rights " that the governorate published 35000 card for free in the duration from 2015-2017, Based on this initiative, the Directorate of Youth in Sohag Governorate has carried out some activities during the past three years for the benefit of women as follow 1- Educational seminars for Egyptian girls 2- Participation in the exhibition (Made in Sohag) _ Handicrafts and art 3- Holding seminars for women's safety from harassment 4-Holding seminars on motherhood and childhood

under the supervision of Sohag Governorate The project development authority,By introducing facilities in direct loans that provides the ability to establish projects which led to provide job opportunities in urban areas and countryside in all areas of the Governorte

The publish of 35000 identity card led to the woman right to recieve health, educational and social services in an easy way by the assistance of the national council for woman. in the Sohag Governorate there is a big percentage of women that are employee and have many responsibilities such as the director of local development branch in the Governorate which reflects the Governorate confidence in the woman role to participate in the decision making process

the main methodology that the Governorate apply is to make a link between the government and the civil society as it is the main base of democracy to support the woman role in the society and make it recieve her all righrs

the innovation is original that the Governorate for the first time seek to recieve an Award in the field of gender equality and it will be the pioneer of promoting gender equality in upper Egypt

financial resources: the financial aids in the form of direct loans that was introduced by the project development authority. Human resources: Where the energies of youth and women are used in the development of projects. The projects were aimed at providing job opportunities, which in some projects reached 11907 jobs

the lessons learned Through this initiative and attention to women, it became clear to us that the society needs to raise awareness and knowledge of the challenges and obstacles facing women in societies, and that women within the province need to know their rights In order to continue this initiative and achieve its objectives and what it seeks, we find that women in society must be able to prove themselves and seek to participate in society and have an effective and influential role, women can not affect the community without involvement and participation in it, Holding several conferences and events to sensitize women in coordination with various bodies that seek to pay attention to the role of women in it
