Please provide a brief summary of the initiative including the problems/challenges it addressed and the solutions that the initiative introduced (300 words maximum)
Broadening the perception of disaster and presenting ways to protect yourself was the main idea of the project, while at the same time offering knowledge of basic principles of safe attitudes through the presentation of Basic Notions of First Aid and Basic Notions of Fire. Where the students are presented theory about the real subjects and situations and exercise through practices during the Course.
a. What are the overall objectives of the initiative?
Please describe the overall objectives of the initiative (200 words maximum)
Strengthening municipalities with the mission of working with the volunteer service, disseminating the concepts of Prevention, Preparation, Response and Reconstruction, contributing to actions in the event of harmful events in the municipalities. Create a link with society and have citizen participation, entities or companies in the aid of social activities, without receiving a fee for services rendered.
b. How does the initiative fit within the selected category?

The Voluntary Service Program in Civil Defense was born to establish the link between community and Civil Defense. Voluntary work has the task of generating actions, aiming at improvements in the Civil Defense system, including better responses and reconstructions to damages from harmful events, creating and strengthening the understanding of the exercise and concept of citizenship in the population of the State of Mato Grosso.

Increased resilience to natural disasters, allowing for a safer quality of life and attitudes during people's daily lives.

With the change of attitudes in the activities during the daily life, implanting security actions during their daily activities.

There was no similar program or project in the State that addressed the issue of resilience to disasters caused by natural natural events or even by unsafe behavior during people's life. At the end of the course, students should be able to: • Reflect on the culture of disaster prevention; • Reduce the fundamental risk factors of the environments in which they live; • Perform emergency first aid; • Fighting principles of fire; • Perform emergency evacuation of your work environment;

It follows the guidance of the United Nations to increase awareness of the need to prevent natural disasters, as outlined in the Kyoto Protocol and Sanday.

Human: Instructors and monitors (2 per class) Materials: television, reproduction equipment, computers and booklets, fuel for practical classes (gasoline and diesel), water and drums, fire extinguishers, resuciane doll and backpack of 1 st.

Yes. The course deals with very broad day-to-day attitudes and ways of behaving during an event that can become a sinister, emeri- nation or even a disaster. This is common everywhere

Because it is a teaching of attitudes and actions that are developed during the daily life of people. The course can be taught in several different communities and is always updated or remembered.

The everyday is part of people's lives, as well as the unforeseen climate and climatic effects. So the event can become a constant event in people's lives and is always presented as a way to remember how to behave in a safe way in your daily life.
