Please provide a brief summary of the initiative including the problems/challenges it addressed and the solutions that the initiative introduced (300 words maximum)
Gender Vanguard Community Development Service Group is a gender equality crusade initiative that addresses gender based issues like gender Inequality, forced marriage, child abuses, trafficking in women, women sexual abuses. The initiative involves in creating public awareness campaign, sensitization visits to schools, churches, market places and organizing public lectures against these challenges by encouraging those who are facing some abuses to speak up and provide help to them through our partners.
a. What are the overall objectives of the initiative?
Please describe the overall objectives of the initiative (200 words maximum)
To ensure that every woman is given equal opportunity with the men and to ensure that every Girl's Child get education and every sexual assault on any woman must be treated and anyone responsible for the assault must be brought to face the wrath of the law.
b. How does the initiative fit within the selected category?

The initiative is a women advocacy group and it fits into the selected category because it is aim in eradicating all the social ills against women globally within the next few years.

a. Please explain how the initiative improves the delivery of public services (200 words maximum)
It has improves the delivery of public service in that most women have started aspiring for leadership positions in both public and private sector within our community. The deputy Governor of our state is a Woman and the Local Government Chairperson in our neighbouring community is a woman. The call for equal opportunity for women have being paving ways for women to be given chances to also lead.

The initiative must impact positively a group or groups of the population (i.e. children, women, elderly, people with disability, etc) and address a significant issue of public service delivery within the context of a given country or region.
a. Please explain how the initiative has addressed a significant issue related to the delivery of public services (200 words maximum)
A significant issue that we have addressed lately is the issue of inclusion of women into leadership position. The initiative have being able to advocate for women to be given opportunities to lead, most women have aspired for leadership positions and got them, other women folks have also being sensitize to support their fellow women who are aspiring for leadership positions both in the local, regional and national level.
b. Please explain how the initiative has impacted positively a group or groups of the population within the context of your country or region (200 words maximum)
The initiative have being able to help people within her community to reposition their perspective about the Girl's Child educational right. It is the right of every girl child to acquire education and become productive in the society. The Girl's Child in our community are walking tall as they are now giving the same respect and privileges that is accorded to the male child.

One of the greatest setback on the issue of sexual abuses against the Girl Child is the absence of courage to speak up about the abuse. Most victims suffer in silence for a long time, as an Initiative, we have being able to devise ways to help them speak up. Female members of our initiative are sent to schools to sensitize teenage girls on the dangers of sexual abuses and the need to seek help and obviously this approach have being able to help most victims to speak up and get help.

The innovation is original because we are the first to start implementing this approach within our community.

Human resources is the capital resources used to implement the initiative. The regional chapter of the International federation of Female Lawyers have being very useful and supportive in our crusade. And kind hearted individuals and members of the initiatives who are University graduates under the umbrella of the National Youth Service Corp sacrifice their time and financial resources to implement the idea of the initiative.

Yes
The initiative is active and alive within all the local government communities in the country. The National Youth Service Corp is a national scheme that covers the whole nation and our initiative is visible in every local government community where University graduates are posted to serve.

The sustainability of the initiatives is enduring because the initiative was born out of the National Youth Service Corp scheme which is an institution that is owned, managed and sustained by the Federal Government. Irrespective of the social, economical or environmental changes within the country, the National Youth Service Corp Scheme will continue to be sustained and as long as the NYSC scheme is sustained, the initiative is also sustained.
b. Please describe whether and how the initiative is sustainable in terms of durability in time (300 words maximum)
The initiative sustainability in terms of duration is strong, as members are inducted into the initiative every six months. Members are transitional in that after one year, they will be relieved of their services, while others inducted into the initiative continues from where they stop.

Yes

The initiative have being evaluated based on the behavioural changes of members of their host communities. Our partners have been able to identify or evaluate the effort of the initiatives by the increasing record of admission of the Girl's Child into various institutions of learning within the host communities.

The evaluation have created positive impact and some sense of pride on the initiative in that when more efforts and energy are infused into the initiative, it will achieve more than what it has been able to achieve.

The indicators that were used to carry out the evaluation are statistics gotten from schools within the community and data obtained through public opinions from people within the community.

a. The 2030 Development Agenda puts emphasis on collaboration, engagement, coordination, partnerships, and inclusion. Please describe what stakeholders were engaged in designing, implementing and evaluating the initiative. Please also highlight their roles and contributions (300 words maximum)
The International federation of Female Lawyers have collaborated with the initiative by helping sexual abuses victims to get justice. The National Agency for Trafficking in persons have also collaborated with the initiative by opening their doors for the initiative to sensitize victims of trafficking. The Nigerian Police Force have also collaborated in helping to arrest sexual predators, the media houses (radio and television stations) have always invited us to used their studios to preach against these social ills against women.

I have learned that every individual can make a difference starting from where they are. This lesson is bored out of what members of the initiative are doing, no matter how small to put an end to these societal ills. I have also learned that nothing will stop, until people stand up and demand a stop to it. I am looking forward to improve the status of the initiative to go beyond the National Youth Service Corp scheme. It shouldn't just be a Youth crusade, it should be everybody's crusade. And together, people irrespective of their age, religious affiliation, social class, sexual orientation should join in the fight against Gender Inequality, forced marriage, child abuses, trafficking in women, the Girl's Child educational right and such like.
